I've been in engineering professionally for 26 years, starting right after leaving school in 2000 when I joined the Royal Navy to train in marine engineering.

​Since then, my career has spanned a wide spectrum of technical environments—from marine systems and gas turbine engineering to large-scale industrial plant equipment and running my own specialist workshops. That decades-long hands-on background means I bring deep troubleshooting, mechanical, and electrical expertise to every job, whether I'm diagnosing a complex breakdown or working on a vessel's core systems.

I've lived aboard my narrowboat since 2019, making the canal network my permanent home. Over the years, I've handled all my own maintenance, system upgrades, and structural repairs, as well as completely rebuilding the interior to a liveaboard standard. Living afloat full-time gives me a genuine, boots-on-the-deck understanding of the unique challenges narrowboats and inland vessels face day in and day out.
